Job description

Please note: This position is for Summer 2026.

Grand Canyon University (GCU) is seeking a Space and Asset Assistant to support the mission of Grand Canyon University through GCU's Facilities department.

Purpose within the Organization:

The purpose of this position is to perform data collection and input of Facilities assets and space attributes in the field, under management of the Facilities. Student workers will work independently and in teams both indoors and outdoors, to gather asset information and space attributes around campus. Students will annotate location, tag asset, obtain pictures where necessary, research manufacture operating manuals and maintenance checklists to include with asset data input. Additionally, take data gathered in the field and input into Facilities work management database for future tracking and reporting purposes. As well, verify space use in facilities and annotate specific space attributes and input into the work management database.

Responsibilities Related to Purpose:

  • Identify and record asset information
  • Identify and record various space attributes
  • Take pictures of and identify relevant features for cataloging
  • Format field data for digital input
  • Input data into Work Management System

Equipment Used:

  • Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • FAMIS 360 Work Order Management System.
  • Ladder
  • Small hand tools.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to move and lift max 50 lbs.
  • Experience working with and on a ladder
  • Note-taking ability
  • Attention to detail and safety
  • Organizational skills

Experience/Education:

Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor's program or Master's program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
Anticipated End Date: June 30, 2027
