Job description

ONLY APPLICANTS SELECTED FOR AN INTERVIEW WILL BE NOTIFIED

Repetitive manual labor not to be limited to general and specialized cleaning tasks, event tasks, and/or general and specific maintenance of a given facility as designated by the immediate supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(This list is not intended to detail all aspects of the assigned work but is representative of the job’s overall responsibilities.)

  • Opening and closing of facilities or rooms as scheduled.
  • Perform security and safety inspections of assigned areas as needed.
  • Vacuuming, bonneting, extracting, and spot cleaning any assigned carpeted areas.
  • Sweeping, scrubbing, burnishing, or buffing, mopping, and disinfecting different floor types.
  • Empty and discard trash throughout an assigned area or facility.
  • Setting up and breaking down tables and chairs for various functions.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the swim & fitness center, pool deck, restrooms, showers, and locker rooms.
  • Completes maintenance tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
  • Assists co-workers as deemed necessary by the immediate supervisor.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of a facility as directed by the supervisor of the specific facility.
  • Stocks, maintains, and is responsible for the chemicals needed to maintain the functionality and/or cleanliness of an assigned area of responsibility.
  • Maintaining the functionality of all types of equipment needed to perform assigned tasks not to be limited to changing or cleaning filters, replacing bags, wiping down the housing, and rinsing out solution and recovery tanks.
  • Ability to climb a ladder for the purpose of performing tasks such as light bulb changes, sign hanging, etc.
  • Performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned/required.
  • Maintains consistent record of acceptable attendance and punctuality according to policy guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
     

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE      
Sufficient Training and education to demonstrate possession of required knowledge, skills and qualifications are required. 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One year increasingly responsible facility management and three years of increasingly responsible custodial or maintenance experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of principles and procedures of janitorial and routine building maintenance.
  • Safe handling of potentially hazardous chemicals. 
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of semiskilled maintenance tasks.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Arizona driver's license and good driving record for insurance purposes.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, prolonged standing and walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, balance, use hands to finger, handle, grasp, pull, push, or feel; reach with hands and arms above shoulders and talk or hear and an ability to taste and smell.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move more than 50 pounds and up to 100 pounds or more with assistance. 
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
