About the Role:
This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help maximize our sales and reduce our operating expenses through better use of data. The Sales Operations Analyst needs to be able to think strategically and understand business/industry trends. Candidate must be a performance-focused, proactive self-starter. To excel in this role, the candidate should be driven to do things before being asked, have excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and apply creative insight into problem-solving. They should be comfortable with appropriate risk-taking; exercise good judgment in making calls when “perfect” information and solutions are not attainable, and be able to multitask, manage time and balance multiple priorities.
Their primary focus will be identifying and developing analytic solutions to turn data into actionable business recommendations, using statistical and quantitative analysis to enable data-driven decision making, and effectively using current and emerging technologies to evaluate trends. They will work to provide detailed analysis of source system data and modeling that data in available data visualization tools. A successful candidate should be proficient in the use of the Google G-Suite portfolio of products and have strong skills in business analytics platforms such as Targit, PowerBI. SQL and additional applications as needed.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop complex data sets to generate reports and data analysis methods to monitor and drive key performance indicators
- Prepare accurate reports using complex data sets from internal and external sources
- Analyze data to communicate areas for improvement in efficiency
- Work with business users to determine data analytics needs
- Collaborate with various divisions and staff members to develop strategic tools and applications to improve our sales ability/enablement.
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
- Translate data into insights and communicate effectively with stakeholders
- Assist in communicating programs and services information to the field staff
- Use data and creative reasoning to enhance business decision making
- Assist with handling sales related market activities and events
- Enable and assist in helping train business users to access and utilize data analytics in their decision making
- Special projects as requested by management
Minimum
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in business, management, marketing, or related field.
- Ability and willingness to learn new software applications
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Access and Excel
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel, and Google G-Suite
- Basic knowledge of SQL
- Previous experience developing and/or supporting software applications
- Familiarity with Targit reporting analytics (or other Business Analytics software) and additional reporting tools
- Experience or familiarity with Do it Best Corp.
- A general understanding of DIY/Hardware Retailing or Operations

- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft/Google software suites
- Demonstrated ability to understand Financial / Business Reporting
- General understanding of Business Analytics and reporting software
