Overview
At Beebe Healthcare, oncology care extends beyond treatment-it is centered on compassionate, multidisciplinary support across the cancer journey, from diagnosis through survivorship. The Tunnell Cancer Center, located on the Beebe Health Campus, provides comprehensive cancer services including medical oncology, hematology, radiation oncology, diagnostics, clinical trials, care coordination, and patient navigation. Accredited by the Commission on Cancer (CoC) and recognized through QOPI® Certification, the center is committed to excellence in quality, innovation, and patient outcomes.
Beebe Healthcare is seeking an experienced RN Clinical Educator with Oncology expertise to serve as an educational leader supporting nursing excellence within oncology services. This role will influence staff development, evidence-based practice, orientation, competency management, and professional growth while promoting exceptional care for patients and families impacted by cancer.
The RN Clinical Educator works independently and collaboratively with the Nurse Manager, Nurse Director, and VP of Patient Care Services to assess learning needs and develop educational strategies supporting oncology nursing practice. This position serves as the educational leader for the oncology patient population and is responsible for developing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating educational programs for nursing staff, patients, and families.
The ideal candidate demonstrates advanced clinical expertise in oncology nursing, strong communication and leadership skills, and a passion for mentoring staff and promoting evidence-based care across the continuum of oncology services.
Responsibilities
Education & Staff Development
  • Assess oncology unit learning needs and develop unit-based education plans supporting nursing staff, patients, and families.
  • Design, coordinate, and evaluate educational programs focused on oncology care, evidence-based practice, quality outcomes, and professional development.
  • Coordinate and/or provide didactic and clinical orientation programs for nursing staff in assigned areas.
  • Develop continuing education opportunities supporting oncology competencies and evolving standards of care.
  • Support and mentor preceptors to effectively orient and develop new staff members.
  • Implement and evaluate preceptor programs in collaboration with Nurse Managers.
  • Develop and support housewide educational initiatives, including RN Residency programs and support staff development programs.

Clinical Leadership & Quality
  • Serve as the educational leader for oncology patient populations, addressing specialty-specific educational needs across the care continuum.
  • Promote and ensure nursing practice aligns with evidence-based oncology standards and best practices.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to support quality improvement and integrate best practice recommendations.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify and address continuity of care concerns and performance improvement opportunities.
  • Participate in department and division-level quality and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Support shared governance principles and integrate collaborative decision-making into daily practice.

Collaboration & Mentorship
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, navigators, and ancillary services to improve patient outcomes.
  • Serve as a resource and liaison across departments and within the community.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback supporting clinical growth and professional performance.
  • Foster a culture of learning, accountability, and professional excellence.

Patient & Family Education
  • Develop and coordinate educational initiatives supporting oncology patients and families through diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and care transitions.
  • Promote safe, therapeutic, patient-centered environments through responsive and respectful communication.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 3-5 years of clinical RN experience in oncology or specialty practice area
  • Demonstrated expertise in oncology nursing practice and adult education principles
  • Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills
  • Previous experience in nursing education, professional development, or clinical instruction preferred
  • Specialty oncology certification preferred (e.g., OCN®)

Credentials
  • Current RN licensure to practice in the State of Delaware.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification

Education
  • BSN required, MSN preferred
