Veterinary Practice Manager Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Culture
Lead a high-performing veterinary hospital team by fostering a positive, supportive, and accountability-driven culture within a fast-paced small animal veterinary practice.
  • Build and sustain a strong veterinary team culture rooted in accountability, collaboration, and respect
  • Mentor, coach, and develop Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, and client service teams
  • Maintain strong hospital-wide communication and leadership visibility across all departments
  • Drive employee engagement, recognition programs, morale initiatives, and staff retention strategies
  • Lead confidently through workflow optimization, change management, and hospital growth initiatives
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and professional development of veterinary staff
  • Partner closely with the Medical Director and veterinary leadership team to align clinical and operational goals

Veterinary Hospital Operations & Workflow Management
Oversee day-to-day veterinary hospital operations, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and high-quality patient care in a small animal practice environment.
  • Manage hospital workflow, staffing schedules, and operational coordination
  • Identify and implement improvements to efficiency, client experience, and patient flow
  • Ensure operational consistency, inventory control, and regulatory compliance (AAHA/OSHA standards if applicable)
  • Support implementation of new systems, processes, and hospital-wide initiatives
  • Utilize KPIs, performance metrics, and reporting tools to drive operational decisions and hospital performance
  • Maintain smooth coordination between clinical, surgical, and client service teams

Client Experience & Veterinary Community Engagement
Deliver an exceptional veterinary client experience built on compassion, communication, and trust within the local community.

What We're Looking For
We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Practice Manager / Veterinary Hospital Leader with a strong background in team leadership, hospital operations, and veterinary business management.
  • 3+ years of leadership or management experience in veterinary medicine, healthcare, or a clinical operations environment
  • Proven success leading, motivating, and developing high-performing veterinary teams (Technicians, Assistants, Client Service Representatives, and support staff)
  • Experience managing veterinary hospital operations, including workflow coordination, staffing, and scheduling
  • Strong skills in team leadership, performance management, coaching, and staff development
  • Excellent emotional intelligence, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to lead through organizational change, growth initiatives, and operational transitions while maintaining team engagement and morale
  • Working knowledge of veterinary practice management software systems (PIMS experience preferred)
  • Strong commitment to culture-building, mentorship, and operational excellence in a veterinary hospital setting
