Job description

Vast is looking for a Training Operations Coordinator, reporting to the Director of Talent Development, to support onsite training, administration of the Learning Management System, and talent development program management.

This will be a full-time, non-exempt position located in our Long Beach location. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Daily administration of data, certifications, course rosters and attendance, materials, eLearning, tests/quizzes, dashboards, and system configurations for the Learning Management System (Cornerstone)
  • Organize, schedule, manage enrollments, record attendance and ensure training materials are available for in-person training courses
  • Act as a primary point of contact for routine employee inquiries, exercising sound judgment to resolve standard issues and escalating complex or unique matters to Talent Development team members as appropriate
  • Coordinate with third party vendors for specialized resources and instruction which are outside of internal expertise
  • Coordination with Vast end users to establish the scope of work across Talent Programs and the Training Intake Form
  • Create course materials, such as PowerPoints, handouts, and tests for instructor-led programs
  • Assist with data and reporting requests from internal customers and cross-functional People team members
  • Own the ongoing maintenance and optimization of the Talent Development team's Confluence pages, ensuring information is accessible, accurate, and updated regularly

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • Intermediate level Google Sheets (or Microsoft Excel) knowledge

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (1+ years, Cornerstone preferred)
  • Basic understanding of Learning & Development (course completion rates, compliance training, Instructor-Led Training vs. eLearning) 
  • Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to easily navigate through different computer software programs (Google Workspace Applications, Microsoft Excel, Tableau)
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to make independent judgments with limited information
  • Communication skills for relaying data (verbally and in-writing) between other employees, vendors, and customers
  • Logical and strategic approach to solving problems
  • Comfortable working in a high-stress environment balancing several projects at any given time, and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic direction
