Job description

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Contract Manager to support our heat treat and thermal processing projects from proposal through execution. This role serves as a key liaison between engineering, sales, legal, procurement, and project management, ensuring contracts align with technical scope, commercial terms, and customer requirements. The ideal candidate brings a strong engineering background combined with contract management experience in a capital equipment or industrial manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Schedule kick-off meetings internally and externally with customers
  • Confirm Credit Release prior to project initiation
  • Coordinate shipping schedules, manage payments, and collect receivables
  • Review Bill of Materials (BOM) and collaborate with Engineering on status and completion
  • Develop and maintain detailed production schedules
  • Perform cost control functions including tracking and reporting
  • Define installation scopes and act as liaison between Engineers and Vendors
  • Provide field support and troubleshooting assistance
  • Assist commissioning teams with preparation for start-ups
  • Serve as primary customer liaison throughout the contract lifecycle
  • Manage drawing and document transmittals
  • Resolve warranty-related issues
  • Maintain and organize contract folder documentation


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Metallurgical, or related field required)
  • 5+ years of experience in contract management, project engineering, or commercial roles within an industrial, manufacturing, or capital equipment environment
  • Experience in the heat treat, thermal processing, furnace, or metallurgical industry strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of engineering scopes, technical specifications, and project execution processes
  • Proven experience reviewing and negotiating commercial and technical contract terms
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation abilities
