Job description

Registered Nurse

Individuals within this job classification are accountable for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting care activities in accordance with OSUMC standards in order to deliver efficient, effective, and quality patient care. The Registered Nurse (RN) must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit. This individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status, and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs. The RN is to plan for the provision of patient care, including the development, modification, and implementation of the plan of care in accordance with OSUMC standards in order to deliver efficient, effective, and quality patient care as described in the Patient Care policies and procedures. He/she is expected to adhere to and abide by the rules and regulations set forth by the Oklahoma Nursing Practice Act.

This full-time position qualifies the nurse for a Summers Off scheduling program. In this program, the nurse will work at least 20 pay periods (2-week pay periods), with up to 6 pay periods off during the summer months, depending on individual factors. During the 20 pay periods, the nurse works 7 shifts per 2-week pay period. The hours worked during the 20 pay periods (which is the minimum) allow the nurse to work full-time hours and accumulate enough PTO to pay for their benefits throughout the summer months. At the end of the summer off scheduling program, OSUMC may choose to extend another period of the summer off scheduling program. If another Summer Off scheduling program is not offered or is not extended to you, this position reverts to a normal schedule of three, 12-hour shifts per week.
