Job description

Reports to: Director of Transportation
General Summary: The School Bus Driver provides save and efficient transportation to support the district's curriculum and extra-curricular programs.
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY~ WCS provides CDL Training!
****Full-Time (30+hours) Bus Driver $2,000 New Hire Bonus****
  • New hires will receive $500 after receiving CDL license, $500 after probationary period ends, $500 at one year, $500 after two years. A (MOU) memorandum of understanding will need to be signed indicating that if the employee left within 1-2 year of employment they would owe the bonus back to the district.
Essential Functions:
  • Transport only authorized students on assigned routes/schedules and reports deviation
  • Maintain discipline and reports unruly students
  • Obey all traffic laws and observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses
  • Perform operational pre-trip check and post-trip inspections and reports malfunctions
  • Discharge students only at authorized stops
  • Report all accidents and follows proper reporting procedures
  • Exercise responsible leadership while driving out of district trips
  • Fulfill all requirements as set by the Director Of Transportation
  • Perform other reasonably-related duties as may be assigned by the Director of Transportation
Qualifications:
  • Education - High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Indiana Commercial Driver's License with no active points
  • Good driving record
  • Required School Bus endorsements
  • Indiana Department of Education School Bus Driver Certification
