Located in Largo in the heart of Prince George's County, our new state-of-the-art regional medical center (UM Capital Region Medical Center) will provide improved access to primary and ambulatory care services, and serve as a tertiary care center for critically ill patients. In addition, our new space will allow us to expand our offerings as a community partner to help improve the health status of Prince George's County residents.
Job Description
01:30 PM to 11:30 PM - 4 days a week, and one to two weekends per month. Four ten hour shifts per week. Every other weekend and some holidays.
The Staffing Assistant Il is responsible for verifying daily unit staffing, assigning agency & per diem staff to units, communicating needs to UMCAP approved agencies, processing agency invoices, monitoring the Transport board during the absence of the Manager.
Principal Duties: l. Maintains all unit staffing boards verifying actual staff assigned per shift.
2. Prints daily boards at the beginning of each week from the electronic scheduling system.
3. Verifies staffing on the daily staffing boards for the next 24-hours with the Manager/designee daily between 08:00-10:00.
4. Alerts appropriate management of staffing problems.
5. Documents callouts and records them in the electronic scheduling system.
6. Notifies units of callouts, logs call-outs into electronic scheduling system.
7. Reviews daily and weekend staffing boards 24-4& hours in advance to alert Managers of staffing needs; 8. Calculates staffing needs based on approved staffing grids and l:1protocols.
9. Procures personnel (supplemental, agency personnel and if necessary, unit staff) to meet staffing needs. Assigns supplemental staff on units and updates staffing boards accurately.
Work Experience
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or GED
Minimum of one-year administrative experience in a hospital or related healthcare setting. Required: 1 - 3 years.
MICROSOFT EXCEL: Performs tasks and work with data in worksheets. Able to enter and correct data, modify a workbook, format a worksheet, and use printing functions.
MICROSOFT WORD: Perform daily word processing tasks, such as, producing routine letters, memorandums, and informal reports. Able to use basic formatting, editing, printing functions, and understands the document page set-up.
MICROSOFT ACCESS: Design, create, and modify databases, tables, queries, forms, and reports. Understands the different database concepts and structures and is familiar with data validation and indexing techniques.
