Special Projects Coordinator

About Your Role:
As a Special Projects Coordinator at Dollar Tree's corporate office, you'll support and coordinate designated CAPEX and Special Projects across both Dollar Tree. You'll partner closely with the Director of Retail Store Development, Manager of Special Projects, and Special Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered accurately, efficiently, and on schedule. With your support, you'll help drive seamless execution of high-impact initiatives across the enterprise.
Your day-to-day job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Project Coordination & Execution
  • Coordinate and independently manage assigned Special Projects including décor changes, checkout updates, gondola additions and replacements, auto door installations, vestibules, remodels, rebanners, flooring projects, refrigeration programs, and other initiatives.
  • Communicate Special Project Construction Memos to vendors and field teams.
  • Collaborate with Special Projects leadership to troubleshoot and resolve scheduling, materials, or installation issues with stores and vendors.
  • Track projects according to established timelines and ensure accurate follow-through from start to finish.

Vendor & Material Management
  • Work with Special Projects Managers to order required materials and communicate all project-related material needs to appropriate vendors using SLM and Ariba systems.
  • Identify and escalate any material or vendor issues to the Manager, Special Projects Managers, and Director.
  • Support efficient coordination between vendors, architects, engineers, contractors, and internal teams.

Your Required Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in building retail stores or equivalent project coordination experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong ability to set priorities and support a multi-faceted team.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to track multiple projects across timelines.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse internal and external partners.

Preferred Requirements:
  • Familiarity with store fixturing, planning, operations, construction, and/or merchandising.
  • Self-directed, innovative, and proactive approach to work.
  • Energetic, solutions-focused mindset with a willingness to take initiative.
