Business Development Manager

Provide pressure management related sales and technical support to Applied Control’s customers to continually grow our business throughout our territory.

Business Development Manager Responsibilities:

  • Identify and cultivate opportunities with new customers and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with all key customers
  • Manage and coordinate the pursuit of in-house and field opportunities
  • Lead and/or support key opportunities through the following phases: Project Identification, Pursuit Strategy, Proposal Generation, Execution, Project Completion and Customer Satisfaction Follow-up
  • Serve as an outside sales resource and subject matter expert for all services
  • Safety Relief Valves, Rupture Discs, Explosion Venting, Tank Protection, Flame Arrestors, Steam Traps, Steam Valves, Sight Glass/Level Gauges, Pressure Reducing & Back Pressure, Industrial Regulators and Natural Gas Regulators
  • Installation, maintenance, and commissioning services
  • Communicate to the inside sales team any technical requirements to perform the requested design package
  • Comply with customer safety standards including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (respirators, goggles, hearing protection, etc.) when visiting customer facilities
  • Understand and comply with generally accepted industry standards, such as ANSI, ASME, API, IEC and others, as they apply to pressure management
  • Look for opportunities to provide additional value to customers that also deliver incremental business for Applied Control and Emerson

Business Development Manager Skills/Qualifications:

  • Ability to access customer equipment which may involve stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing ladders and stairs, riding man lifts, walking scaffolding, catwalks, etc.

Business Development Manager Working Conditions:

Travel is required and may include driving several hours per day and overnight trips. Must have a valid driver’s license and own an automobile. This position is eligible for a vehicle reimbursement program.

The position requires regular carrying of a laptop computer and occasionally carrying demonstration equipment/products.

Business Development Manager Compensation:

    • We offer a competitive compensation package with the opportunity to earn between $130,000 and $150,000 in cash compensation, with a mix of fixed and variable pay at plan. Prior work or industry experience as well as job-related education and unique skills will be taken into consideration when setting the wage rate.
    • Other Variable Compensation: Eligible for additional incentive compensation including a quarterly sales bonus, an annual sales escalation payment, and an annual profit share
    • Benefits offered include: Medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, 401K with an employer match, generous PTO plan starting at 16 days of PTO and increases with service, a 9/80 work schedule that provides for 26 additional weekdays off each year.
