Montague Diner is a classic American diner in Brooklyn Heights.
Our menu features a variety of classics; think pancakes, a burger, steak frites. Coffee is poured in abundance. A slice of pie and a milkshake should be the finishing touch to every meal at Montague.
Service runs daily from 8am to 10pm. Open availability is a must. Applicants must be highly passionate individuals with a willingness to collaborate on building exceptional guest experiences. We are a high-volume operation, serving 500+ covers on busy weekends while also hosting weddings, private parties, and other special events. Strong food and beverage knowledge a plus. Most importantly, we are looking for individuals that show genuine kindness, respect, and joy in every aspect of their work.
Seeking: An experienced and motivated Lead Server. The Lead Server is responsible for delivering exceptional hospitality while leading by example on the dining room floor. This role combines full-service restaurant responsibilities with leadership duties, ensuring smooth daily operations, supporting the service team, and maintaining Montague Diner’s high standards of hospitality, efficiency, and professionalism.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of serving experience in a fast-paced, full-service restaurant.
  • Previous leadership, trainer, or shift lead experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food, beverages, POS systems, and cash handling.
  • NYC Food Protection Certificate is a plus.
  • Ability to remain calm, organized, and solution-oriented during high-volume service.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Lead pre-shift meetings and communicate daily specials, menu updates, and service goals.
  • Support and coach servers, hosts, bussers, food runners, and support staff throughout each shift.
