Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Lead Server to join our dynamic luxury retirement community. In this pivotal role, you will lead the front-of-house service team, ensuring exceptional resident experiences through expert food and beverage service, effective team coordination, and a vibrant atmosphere. Your leadership will inspire your team to deliver memorable dining experiences while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, possesses strong communication skills, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where teamwork and enthusiasm are key.

SHIFT: 1130AM to close (no late nights) available on holidays and weekends if needed

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and abilities.
  • Become the liaison between the kitchen and the front of the house.
  • Assist with recruiting, training, and development programs for all staff.
  • Monitor employee dress code.
  • Perform Dining Room opening and closing duties and ensure all servers are trained to perform.
  • Attend management and staff meetings.
  • Interact with Residents by answering questions, solving problems, overseeing services, taking reservations and introducing him or herself to prospective Residents on tours.
  • Undertake special projects as requested.
  • Respond efficiently and accurately to Resident complaints.
  • Organize and supervise Front of the House team member shifts.
  • Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity.
  • Adhere to local regulations concerning health, safety, or other compliance requirements, as well as brand standards and local policies and procedures.
  • Other tasks Culinary Director or Executive Director may need.

Skills

  • Proven work experience as a lead server or similar role in high volume atmosphere for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Proven customer service training experience.

Experience

Candidates should have a solid background in the food industry with experience in roles such as restaurant management or assistant manager positions. Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience in fine dining or casual dining environments ~ Restaurant or Hospitality industry: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Proven track record of effective team management and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of culinary practices, food safety standards, and inventory management ~ Management experience 1 year (Required)
  • Familiarity with catering services, banquet operations, or bar management is a plus.
  • Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills.
