Job description

Service Manager โ€“ Food & Beverage

Boutique Hotel | Raleigh Area, NC

Salary: $60,000 annually Reports to: Director of Food & Beverage Employment Type: Full-time, exempt

About the Opportunity

Our client is an independent boutique hotel in the Raleigh area known for warm, genuine hospitality and a strong sense of community. This is a confidential search โ€” the property name will be shared with candidates selected for interviews.

If you've built your career in restaurants and are ready for your next chapter, this role is a rare doorway into boutique hotel leadership. Your food and beverage experience translates directly, and you'll gain exposure to the full hotel operation โ€” restaurant, banquets, catering, and special events โ€” under the mentorship of an experienced Director of Food & Beverage.

Position Summary

The Service Manager โ€“ Food & Beverage is responsible for managing the daily operations of food and beverage service while ensuring exceptional guest experiences, strong operational execution, and adherence to safety standards. This role works across all of the property's F&B concepts, including the restaurant and all catering, banquet, and special event venues.

You'll collaborate closely with the Director of Food & Beverage and hotel leadership to drive results โ€” growing revenue, controlling costs, elevating guest and associate satisfaction, and upholding product and service quality.

The right person brings hands-on food and beverage service experience, comfort with operational systems, and a genuine passion for developing people. You'll be a leader who inspires, motivates, and supports your team โ€” with high standards for the guest experience and real ownership and pride in your work.

What You'll Do

Service & Guest Experience

  • Lead daily F&B service operations across the restaurant, banquet, catering, and event spaces
  • Maintain a consistent floor presence during service, modeling standards and coaching in the moment
  • Ensure every guest interaction reflects the property's service standards; resolve guest concerns promptly and graciously
  • Partner with culinary and events teams to deliver seamless execution for banquets and special events

Team Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, train, schedule, and develop front-of-house team members
  • Deliver ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and recognition
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative team culture where associates feel valued and supported

Operations & Financial Performance

  • Support revenue growth and cost control across labor, beverage, and supplies
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships for assigned areas
  • Use POS and operational systems to monitor performance and drive accountability

Safety & Compliance

  • Uphold all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service standards
  • Ensure compliance with health department, ABC, and property safety requirements
What We're Looking For
  • Food and beverage service experience with supervisory or management responsibility (restaurant, hotel, catering, or club background all welcome)
  • A hospitality-first mindset: warmth, attention to detail, and pride in exceptional guest experiences
  • Proven ability to train, motivate, and lead service teams
  • Working knowledge of POS systems and F&B operational tools
  • ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain upon hire); responsible alcohol service certification a plus
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 25โ€“50 lbs as service demands require
Benefits
  • Competitive salary: $60,000 annually
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Property dining and hotel discounts
  • A collaborative, values-driven culture with real opportunity to grow into broader hotel operations
