Senior Technical Project Manager – Data Engineering & AI

Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid)

A Texas-based organization is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to lead complex data engineering, analytics, and AI-related initiatives. This role will partner with technical and business stakeholders to manage project delivery, coordinate cross-functional teams, and drive successful execution of enterprise data and cloud-based programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead large-scale data engineering, analytics, cloud, and AI-related projects from planning through implementation
  • Coordinate activities across business, engineering, architecture, and vendor teams
  • Define project scope, objectives, milestones, timelines, budgets, and success metrics
  • Track deliverables, manage risks, and ensure alignment with strategic business goals
  • Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Support data architecture, data warehousing, business intelligence, and analytics initiatives
  • Manage project documentation including project plans, status reports, charters, schedules, and lessons learned
  • Monitor resource utilization, forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting
  • Utilize project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, and Smartsheet
  • Support AI adoption, advanced analytics, and digital transformation initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience leading technical projects or programs in data, analytics, cloud, or enterprise technology environments
  • Experience managing data architecture, data warehousing, business intelligence, and analytics initiatives
  • Working knowledge of SQL and database technologies
  • Strong experience managing project budgets, forecasts, schedules, resources, and vendor relationships
  • Proven success leading cross-functional technical teams in complex enterprise environments
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for business and executive audiences
  • Experience with Agile and traditional project management methodologies
  • Proficiency with Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, or similar project management certification
  • Experience supporting AI, advanced analytics, or digital transformation initiatives
  • Experience working in regulated or highly governed environments
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards including FHIR, HL7, or CCDA
  • TOGAF, Cloud Architecture, or related technical certifications
  • Strong consulting, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
