Position Purpose:
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Data Analyst to support data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role will be responsible for transforming raw data into actionable insights, developing dashboards and reports, and partnering cross-functionally to improve operational and financial performance. The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills with business acumen and the ability to clearly communicate findings to senior leadership. This is an on-site role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Analysis amp; Reporting
  • Collect, validate, and analyze large datasets from multiple sources including ERP, CRM, and operational systems.
  • Develop dashboards and recurring reports using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker) to support Finance and cross-functional leadership.
  • Build and maintain queries and data models to support reporting accuracy, consistency, and scalability.
Insights amp; Decision Support
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and performance drivers; translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Partner with Finance, Operations, Sales, and Executive Leadership to define KPIs, metrics, and reporting frameworks.
  • Support forecasting and scenario modeling through advanced analytics to inform strategic and operational decisions.
Process Improvement amp; Data Governance
  • Automate manual reporting processes to improve efficiency, reduce error risk, and free capacity for higher-value analysis.
  • Ensure data integrity, governance, and documentation standards are maintained across all reporting outputs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education amp; Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related role.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into clear, concise insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Skills amp; Abilities — Required
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
  • Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent); ability to build and maintain production-ready dashboards.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present findings and recommendations to Finance leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical rigor and meticulous attention to detail; strong problem-solving capability.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a continuous process improvement mindset.
Skills amp; Abilities — Preferred
  • Experience working with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar) is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with SQL or scripting languages (Python, R) for data extraction and transformation.
  • Background in a manufacturing, energy, or operationally complex environment.

  • Finance and operating leadership have reliable, trusted dashboards that reduce ad hoc reporting requests and accelerate decision-making.
  • Manual reporting processes have been identified, documented, and systematically automated — reducing cycle time and human error.
  • KPIs and performance metrics are clearly defined, consistently measured, and actively used across Finance, Operations, and Sales.
  • Data integrity and governance standards are in place and maintained, with documentation that supports audit and scalability.
  • The Data Analyst is recognized as a key analytical partner to the VP of Finance and broader leadership team.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • On-site at Capstone’s Van Nuys, CA headquarters; regular in-office presence required.
  • Collaborative, cross-functional environment with direct exposure to Finance, Operations, Sales, and Executive leadership.
  • Extended periods of sitting and computer use are typical for this role.
  • Willingness to work beyond a standard 40-hour workweek as driven by reporting cycles, close periods, or business needs.
