Job description

Senior Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer
As a Senior Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer, you will define the technical strategy that powers Convera's cross-border commerce ecosystem. You'll shape partner integrations, influence product direction, and design scalable, secure solutions for global payments. This role blends deep technical expertise with strategic leadership, relationship management, and a consultative mindset.
You will lead technical strategy in complex sales cycles for cross-border payments, collections, and FX risk solutions. You will own technical discovery, payments design reference architectures, deliver tailored demos and POCs, and own the technical win. You will partner with Sales, Product, Compliance, and Customer Implementation to ensure what we sell is deliverable at scale. Convera provides API-first, ISO 20022 aligned payments with coverage across 140 plus currencies in more than 200 countries and territories. Your work translates these capabilities into measurable outcomes for enterprise clients.
What You'll Do
Technical Strategy & Architecture
  • Lead technical discovery across enterprise buyers and partners. Capture use cases, data flows, success criteria. Convert findings into solution options and decision matrices.
  • Design scalable payments reference architectures using REST APIs, OAuth2, webhooks, and batch file exchange.
  • Produce reference architectures for payouts, collections, and FX using REST APIs, webhooks, and file exchange, with explicit idempotency, retry logic, failure modes, canonical payload schemas, and event catalogs for status, funding, exceptions, and reconciliation. Advise customers on global payment rails and regulatory implications.

Pre-Sales Execution & Partner Enablement
  • Deliver tailored demos, solution walkthroughs, and proof-of-concepts that validate performance and drive technical wins.
  • Create integration playbooks, solution briefs, and technical enablement assets.
  • Facilitate workshops and partner/customer training sessions with clear, confident communication.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Influence
  • Align technical solutions with business outcomes via managing and influencing internal and external stakeholders.
  • Influence product roadmaps with insights gained through partner engagements.
  • Resolve conflicts between business priorities and technical feasibility through negotiation and consensus building.
  • Lead and mentor engineers and ensure seamless handoffs to implementation teams.
  • Support joint go-to-market efforts that accelerate partner growth and elevate the Convera ecosystem's technical maturity.

Partner Ecosystem Focus
Convera supports API, SWIFT, SSO, hosted white-label, and referral partners. This role strengthens partner enablement, accelerates integration readiness, and ensures consistent technical standards across the partner ecosystem. You will build partner integrated solutions, standardize partner onboarding, build and own partner solution playbooks.
What You'll Bring
  • 5-8 years in pre-sales engineering, solutions architecture, partner engineering, or technical consulting within fintech, payments, or related domains.
  • Proven delivery of enterprise discoveries, demos, and POCs that led to technical wins.
  • Expertise in API integrations, payments workflows, FX quoting, and global financial rails.
  • Understanding of compliance frameworks (PCI DSS, sanctions, SOC 2).
  • Executive communication, clear diagrams, crisp narratives, and credible trade-off discussions with business and technical audiences
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and mentor peers.
  • Strategic and analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities while navigating ambiguity.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or related fields (Master's preferred).
  • Bilngual - Spanish speakers required

Preferred
  • FX domain familiarity including quoting, hedging constructs, and settlement considerations
  • Experience with ERP or treasury system integrations.
  • Prior leadership of pre-sales assets at scale, such as demo automation or solution libraries

Success Metrics
  • Technical win rate for enterprise and partner opportunities.
  • Conversion rate from demo/POC to closed deal.
  • Cycle time impact measured from first technical discovery to commit.
  • Quality, adoption, and scale of partner enablement assets and sessions delivered.
