Foot Locker Inc. is seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Product Manager to lead initiatives across the Merchandise Planning technology domain. This role will be responsible for defining and delivering capabilities that power pre-season buying, merchandise financial planning (MFP), allocation, size optimization, and assortment planningacross a complex omni-channel retail environment.
This individual will own the end-to-end product lifecycle, and will define and deliver solutions that enable smarter buying decisions, improve inventory productivity, and enhance the systems and data that fuel enterprise merchandise planning activities across the globe. The ideal candidate combines strong product thinking and execution with domain expertise in retail buying, inventory planning, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions.
This role operates at the intersection of retail business fundamentals, data & analytics, and technology, partnering closely with merchandising, planning, allocation, peer product domains, and engineering teams to modernize legacy capabilities and build best-in-class digital products.
Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Domain Ownership
  • Define and evolve the product strategy and vision across core merchandise planning subdomains and related initiatives
  • Ensure alignment to enterprise goals including inventory health, margin expansion, customer experience, and omni-channel excellence
  • Drive opportunities to modernize legacy systems and introduce data-driven and automated capabilities

Roadmap & Value Delivery
  • Build and manage a multi-quarter product roadmap aligned to business priorities, capacity, and cross-domain dependencies
  • Prioritize initiatives using structured frameworks that balance business impact, technical feasibility, and long-term scalability

Discovery & Product Development
  • Lead end-to-end product development lifecycle from discovery through launch and iteration
  • Drive customer-centric discovery to deeply understand merchant, planner, and allocator workflows
  • Translate complex business problems into clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Establish and scale repeatable product practices including discovery, prioritization, and validation

Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Act as the primary bridge between Merchandising, Planning, Allocation, Data & Analytics, and Engineering teams
  • Drive alignment across stakeholders on priorities, tradeoffs, and delivery expectations

Operating Model & Ways of Working
  • Contribute to building and scaling a product-led operating model
  • Partner with PMO / Program teams to ensure clear milestone tracking, dependency management, and delivery transparency
  • Drive adoption of consistent product rituals, governance, and best practices

Data, Analytics & Performance
  • Define and track OKRs and KPIs across the merchandising product portfolio
  • Partner with data teams to ensure data quality, governance, and accessibility

Stakeholder Communication & Influence
  • Communicate product strategy, roadmap, and outcomes to Executive leadership, Business stakeholders, and Tech teams
  • Translate complex concepts into clear, actionable insights
  • Build trust and position Product as a strategic partner to the business

Qualifications
  • Experience: 5+ years of product management experience, preferably in retail, merchandising, or planning / allocation / replenishment technology, with at least 3 years leading enterprise level or advanced data and analytics product deliveries.
  • Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of Pre-season Buying and Planning activities, inventory management, planning & allocation, predictive analytics, demand forecasting, or similar domains. Familiarity with retail, ecommerce and merchandising industry trends and best practices is highly preferred.
  • Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to think strategically, define product strategies, and translate business needs into technical requirements that drive business outcomes.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to lead cross-functional teams and inspire others to achieve product goals. Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities as well as mentoring Jr. Product team members.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation formats, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Ability to convey complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data-driven insights to make informed decisions.
  • Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and build strong working relationships across the organization. Act as the primary advocate for inventory optimization capabilities within the organization, ensuring alignment and buy-in from all key stakeholders.
  • Results-Driven: A track record of delivering successful product launches and achieving measurable results.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; an MBA or Master's degree is a plus.

Technical Expertise:
  • Familiarity with leading inventory optimization and retail advanced analytics platforms
  • Working knowledge of API integrations, data governance, and advanced data modeling techniques
  • Understanding of retail merchandising processes, including assortment planning, pricing, and allocation

Benefits
The annual base salary range is $120000 - $155000 / year. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package, which includes the below.
