Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Mockup Design Team Manager based in Netherlands.

This role offers the opportunity to lead and transform a large-scale 3D design operation supporting a fast-growing global commerce platform. You will manage three Design Team Leads and an overall team of thirteen 3D designers, connecting creative production with broader business and customer goals. Your focus will be on creating a highly efficient, technology-enabled production engine that delivers better visual assets at greater speed. You'll identify workflow bottlenecks, introduce practical automation and AI solutions, and optimize capacity and resource allocation. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, you'll use operational data, customer feedback, and e-commerce trends to improve visual performance and merchant outcomes. This is a leadership role for someone who combines creative understanding with operational discipline, data-driven decision-making, and a passion for developing high-performing teams.

Accountabilities
  • Lead the evolution of the 3D mockup production operation, managing three Design Team Leads and an overall team of thirteen 3D designers.
  • Identify production bottlenecks and implement streamlined workflows, automation, and operational improvements that reduce repetitive manual work.
  • Align design operations with merchant needs by translating customer feedback, e-commerce trends, and usage patterns into high-performing visual assets.
  • Monitor production metrics and visual asset performance to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, conversion, and reduce reprint rates.
  • Evaluate and introduce practical AI tools that enhance designer productivity, simplify workflows, and improve the overall production process.
  • Lead capacity planning and resource allocation, prioritizing high-value initiatives and maximizing the return on visual asset production.
  • Strengthen collaboration between design, product, operations, and other cross-functional teams to create an efficient and responsive visual production pipeline.
  • Coach and mentor Design Team Leads, supporting their development in leadership, operational efficiency, merchant centricity, and team performance.
  • Establish a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, experimentation, and knowledge sharing across the design organization.
  • Use the first year to simplify creative and technical processes, improve production speed, and build a scalable foundation for future growth.
Requirements
  • Proven experience leading, managing, and developing technical, creative, 3D design, or comparable specialist teams.
  • Experience working in a platform, SaaS, e-commerce, or similarly scalable technology environment.
  • Strong understanding of how creative and technical operations contribute to scaling digital products and customer-facing ecosystems.
  • A demonstrated process-optimization mindset, with experience introducing workflow automation and operational improvements to eliminate repetitive work.
  • Practical curiosity about AI and emerging technologies in design, with the ability to identify tools that can meaningfully improve everyday team productivity.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use operational metrics, capacity data, and performance indicators to make informed scheduling and resource-allocation decisions.
  • Experience managing team capacity and optimizing output per FTE while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
  • Strong people-management and coaching capabilities, with the ability to develop team leads and build high-performing, collaborative teams.
  • Customer- and merchant-centric mindset, with the ability to connect creative production decisions to measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines and organizational levels.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment and adapting processes as business needs evolve.
Benefits
  • Monthly gross salary of EUR 3,000-3,500, depending on experience, education, and skills.
  • Fully remote working opportunity within Europe.
  • Option to work from a modern office environment in Riga.
  • Flexible working hours, including the ability to start the workday as late as 11 AM.
  • Private health insurance.
  • Two additional paid days off dedicated to mental or physical wellbeing.
  • One additional paid day off for your birthday or another personal celebration.
  • Internal and external learning and professional development opportunities.
  • Access to mentorship programs, internal meetups, and hackathons both online and on-site.
  • Free and healthy lunch when working from the Riga office.
  • Employee discounts for designing and ordering merchandise through the company's platforms.
  • Team-building activities, events, and social gatherings.
  • Opportunity to work with international and cross-cultural teams on projects supporting global commerce.
  • An environment focused on innovation, collaboration, continuous learning, and meaningful professional growth.
