Job Summary:
The Inventory Allocator is responsible for inventory deployment, splitting of produce between distribution centers and building customer orders.
Responsibilities:
  • Locate, evaluate, tag and stage product to prepare for shipping and fulfilment of customer orders
  • Monitor inventory levels and quality of product to ensure levels meet customer requirements and specifications
  • Liaise with commodities, sales, shipping, production, receiving and food safety departments concerning any inventory variations or quality issues on outbound product; investigate and take corrective action
  • Review and ensure accuracy of produce inventory levels; physical counts; report discrepancies
  • Ensure the health, safety and cleanliness of the work environment
  • Other core expectations as defined by the company

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education preferred
  • Minimum one (1) year forklift experience required
  • Minimum of one (1) year inventory management and/or quality assurance experience in the produce industry preferred
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Health and Safety, Food Safety preferred
  • Some computer knowledge required; Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), ERP software, FAMOUSยฎ preferred
  • Excellent analytical, time management and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team
  • Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment; possess a strong attention to detail

Working Conditions:
  • Hours of work may vary depending on business needs; flexibility is required
  • This job operates in a refrigerated warehouse, where temperatures range from 45-55ยฐF. The noise level in the work environment can be loud due to packaging machinery, and forklift truck operation
  • Role frequently requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, use hands to handle or feel product or packaging, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision capabilities and standing for long periods is required
  • The position requires the ability to regularly to lift 30-pounds, occasionally up to 50-pounds
