Job description

Client: A privately held, well established $25-$50 Million Developer and Distributor of Innovative and Highly Profitable Lawn & Garden, Automotive, Household, and General Merchandise Products. With a proven track record of providing fast selling, quality Merchandise, our Client has a substantial list of satisfied Customers including Major Retail Outlets, smaller Discount Chains, and Internet Distributors and is also recognized as an Industry Leader for reliable, dependable service. Location: GreaterLos Angeles Area Responsibilities: Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Reporting to the President the position will be responsible for the Importing, Purchasing and Buying of all Product Categories exhibiting a superb ability to analyze current Assortment and forecast future Trends in Color, Style, Shapes and Materials.

Duties include: advise and collaborate on New Product Development, keeping abreast of Industry and Consumer Changes: Identify gaps and work in conjunction with Product Development to Create/Source Innovative New Products to set Company apart as the Leader in Innovation, creating Market Dominance with an analytical quality that can profitably manage timely shipment, delivery and inventory control to avoid out of stock and /or inventory obsolesce. Overseas travel 2 to 4 times per year. Personality: Exemplary Candidate(s) will understand the importance of teamwork, working together toward a common vision, and will possess the ability to direct Individual Accomplishments toward Organizational Objectives.

Position will require Strong Communication, Analytical, Organizational and Negotiation skills with the capability to work under tight deadlines while remaining Customer-focused. Experience: This is a new and exciting opportunity and the required Candidate will have a minimum of (5) five years of direct work experience in Product Development within the Consumer Products Industry involving New and Innovative Products that take "As Seen On TV" and e-commerce approach to market prior to moving to the Brick and Mortar phase of the Sales process. Must have extensive Product Development experience with excellent understanding of Trends, Forecasting, Packaging, Competitive Pricing and Placement and overall functions involved with Importing holding a verifiable success in all aspects of Merchandising concepts and dealing directly with Overseas Factories, (not Trading Companies) that sell to the Consumer through the above listed channels of Retailers.

College Education with a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing is desired. Compensation: While no Candidate with the specific required qualifications will be eliminated for compensation reasons, our Client has targeted this Position in the $75,000-$125,000 (commensurate with experience) and range. Excellent Benefits include: Health, Medical, and a Company Funded Profit Sharing Package.
