Job description

Hill House Home is seeking an experienced Assistant Merchandise Planner to join our New York team, reporting directly to the Director of Merchandise Planning.

What You'll Do:
  • Assist in building pre-season and in-season financial plans by SKU, category, and collection using historical data, sales trends, and strategic growth targets to maximize revenue and margin for omni-channel business.
  • Own weekly and monthly reporting process.
  • Analyze business performance (sales, inventory, margin) and present findings to cross-functional stakeholders on both a weekly and ad-hoc basis.
  • Identify risks and opportunities within owned product categories and communicate findings to Director of Planning and respective cross-functional partners.
  • Own initial store allocation and in-season replenishment process. Partner with Stores and Store-Operations team to manage inventory capacity within growing Store fleet.
  • Monitor inventory health including sell-through, weeks of supply, and stock coverage. Recommend markdown and pricing strategy.
  • Support new product launches, line reviews, and product lifecycle planning, working alongside Merchant and Design team.
  • Champion data integrity and SKU-level accuracy across planning systems and tools.
  • Build relationships with direct and indirect cross functional partners: merchants, design, production, E-Comm, store operations & marketing.
  • Participate in monthly/quarterly/annual business reviews and provide insights to support strategic business growth.
  • Assist in ad-hoc analysis based on business needs.
Who You Are:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 2-3+ years minimum experience in Merchandise Planning or Allocation, preferably within omni-channel consumer goods company.
  • Proficient in Excel with ability to manipulate large datasets and create dynamic reports.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence and collaborate across departments.
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong work ethic, sense of urgency, and commitment to achieving targets and deadlines.
  • Organized and able to multitask. Effectively manages multiple priorities and adapts quickly to shifting, high-priority demands.
  • Takes initiative to provide solutions to improve business processes.
  • Naturally inquisitive with strong interest in retail DTC products

Compensation for the role will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience. The estimated annual compensation for this role is $60-70k+
