Director of Visual Merchandising

Position Overview:

We are seeking an innovative and strategic Director of Visual Merchandising to lead our visual merchandising initiatives and set the creative direction across all showroom locations. This role is vital in aligning our corporate vision with in-store execution, ensuring that our merchandising strategies resonate with current trends and customer preferences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement cohesive visual merchandising strategies that enhance guest experience across all showroom locations.
  • Team Development: Lead, mentor, and inspire visual merchandising team members in the Northern Virginia and Richmond markets, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Analyze market trends and showroom performance data to inform merchandising decisions and optimize visual displays.
  • Best Practices Implementation: Design and execute merchandising best practices that elevate brand presentation and customer engagement.
  • On-Site Collaboration: Regularly visit showroom locations to share insights, provide hands-on training, and ensure consistency in visual merchandising applications.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with store managers and other stakeholders to achieve shared goals and ensure alignment on visual strategies.
  • Execution of Floor Sets: Lead a team of floor set specialists in the timely execution of visual plans for new product arrivals, ensuring swift transition from concept to implementation.
  • Planogram Development: Create and produce detailed planograms that effectively organize product displays, maximizing space and enhancing the customer shopping experience.
  • CAD Utilization: Utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools to create detailed visual plans and layouts, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of merchandising strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in visual merchandising leadership, preferably within the home furnishings industry or a multi-store retail environment.
  • Multi-Unit Management: Proven experience in multi-unit management, demonstrating the ability to oversee multiple locations effectively.
  • Travel Flexibility: Ability to travel between all showroom locations in Northern Virginia and Richmond, VA, as needed.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong ability to inspire and guide teams, with a focus on collaboration and communication.
  • Creative Vision: A keen eye for design and a deep understanding of current trends in visual merchandising.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analyzing sales data and market trends to drive merchandising strategies.
  • Technical Skills: Experience utilizing CAD software for designing and implementing visual merchandising layouts, as well as proficiency in producing planograms.
  • Execution Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects and execute quickly and efficiently.
