What's the job all about?
The Relationship Manager is responsible for fostering both new and existing client relationships. This role involves a blend of strategy and action, including active participation in conferences, delivering persuasive presentations, and providing insightful inputs on proposals. The position calls for a proactive approach to identifying and tracking sales opportunities within Salesforce, and playing a pivotal role in business development efforts. The Relationship Manager will set and pursue objectives for specific territories, offer constructive feedback to peers, and adeptly handle objections in a professional manner. This role effectively manages client expectations and navigates through complex client situations with tact and diplomacy.
The essential functions of the role include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Conduct regular, thorough reviews of company strategies, review fact sheets and changes to maintain a deep understanding of business goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and prospects, understanding their needs, and fostering trust and reliability.
  • Develop strategic relationships with key decision-makers in client organizations to effectively align company offerings with client needs.
  • Represent the company at industry events, enhancing visibility and establishing new industry connections.
  • Identify and accurately record new business opportunities in Salesforce, ensuring regular updates to reflect developments.
  • Educate clients about the company's products and services, enabling informed decision-making.
  • Prepare and deliver engaging presentations to clients, demonstrating the company's capabilities and relevance to client objectives.
  • Collaborate on Requests for Proposals and business development initiatives, contributing to the company's competitive positioning and growth.
  • Set and adjust clear, measurable goals for territories and product lines, aligning with market trends and company objectives.
  • Coach and mentor team members, enhancing their performance and professional development, while customizing selling techniques to meet unique client needs.

Requirements
This Team Member will have:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field is required. Series 63 & Series 7 certification is strongly preferred.
Industry Experience: Minimum of 6 years' experience in the industry, with a proven track record in managing client relationships. Prior experience in a client-facing role within financial services or a related industry is highly beneficial.
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with CRM software, particularly Salesforce and Microsoft Office.
Travel: Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time. Ability to spend 50% of the time outside the office for meetings and events.
Communication Skills: Must possess excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. Should have the ability to tailor communication effectively to different audiences.
Problem-solving: Should have the ability to professionally and diplomatically overcome objections. Demonstrated success in managing challenging client situations is required.
Additional Skills: Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and time management skills.
