What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Relationship Director, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Relationship Director, you need expertise in client relationship management, business development, and a degree in business or finance. Familiarity with CRM systems, financial analysis tools, and industry-specific compliance certifications is typically required. Strong interpersonal skills, strategic thinking, and negotiation abilities help you build trust and deliver tailored solutions to clients. These skills and qualities are crucial for driving client satisfaction, fostering long-term partnerships, and achieving business growth targets.

How does a Relationship Director typically collaborate with other departments to meet client needs?

A Relationship Director frequently works cross-functionally, coordinating with teams such as credit analysts, product specialists, and risk managers to create tailored solutions for clients. This role involves regular communication to ensure that client requirements are fully understood and that all stakeholders are aligned on deliverables. Successful Relationship Directors proactively facilitate meetings, share client insights, and advocate for their clients within the organization. This collaborative approach not only strengthens client relationships but also helps drive business growth and client satisfaction.

What is a Relationship Director?

A Relationship Director is a senior professional, often in financial services or banking, responsible for managing and developing relationships with key clients or corporate accounts. Their main role is to understand client needs, provide tailored solutions, and ensure high levels of client satisfaction. They often act as the main point of contact between the client and the organization, facilitating communication and overseeing service delivery. Relationship Directors also identify opportunities for growth within existing accounts and help acquire new business. Their work requires strong interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Job description

alliantgroup, LP is currently experiencing explosive growth! As a national consulting firm focused on being the voice to the middle market, our mission is simple: Strengthening American businesses. How do we do this? We hire the brightest talent with the most diverse backgrounds who are passionate about making a difference.
Our Relationship Directors are the key source to our firm's growth and continued outreach to new businesses, CPA firms and industry associations across the United States, not just in Texas. Without these integral positions, we can't continue to grow our firm in order to help more and more U.S. businesses successfully grow, continue innovation, create jobs and strengthen our economy
These positions are strategic, fast-paced hunter roles (100% new business development, no account management) that will be tasked with new outreach to untouched U.S. business owners, C-Suite contacts and CPA firms that we have yet to work with to educate them on the incentives they aren't taking advantage of.
The role is highly visible and sits with our executive group, CEO, and top performing Managing Directors where you will learn our business from the ground up. A successful Relationship Director will directly contribute to alliantgroup's growth through the generation of new revenue by adding new clients in a fast-paced yet consultative sales cycle.
Responsibilities
  • Create new business through organized lead qualification and prospecting to increase alliantgroup's market penetration.
  • Identify and qualify prospects, create call plans and track progress in Salesforce, conduct daily outbound sales calls (cold and warm calling), schedule and hold sales appointments, obtain needed information to generate presentations and create value centric sales pitches, negotiate and close deals/contracts.
  • Understanding of a value-centric sales approach that allows you to establish highly profitable, strategic partnerships to gain new business through referral avenues.

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of professional sales experience in high-tech or service-related industries, preferably staffing sales, software sales, technology solution sales, financial services etc., calling on C-level decision makers at small to mid-size companies. Tax related industry experience not required.
  • 4 year degree preferred
  • Solid sales (hunter) personality with a strong desire and ability to add new client companies and drive new revenue.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and quickly develop trust with C-level executives.
  • The aptitude to thrive in a fast-paced sales environment with quick sales cycles focused on quality and revenue generation.
  • Highly motivated, results-oriented with strong skills in presenting, communicating, organizing, multi-tasking and time management.
  • Outstanding telephone sales skills as well as dynamic in person relationship building and "challenger" sales approach mentality to add value and build credibility immediately.
  • Strong drive and sense of urgency to get things done.
  • Career driven with a resilient and gritty personality, a high-performing over-achiever that is driven by constant feedback and investment from leadership to grow personally and professionally.
  • Openness to travel 30-70% of the time (frequency varies depending on the time of the year, the person, and the region).

What do we offer?
  • We have a compensation structure designed for high performers with uncapped earnings in a multitude of avenues including strong base salaries, incentives, quarterly commissions and annual performance bonuses.
  • We have a pure meritocracy environment and are not a time-and-tenure firm. We offer promotion opportunities based on performance and investment that are tailored to the growth you wish to have.
  • We want people that want the opportunity to make a direct and highly visible impact on the company's overall financial performance and growth immediately and in the long-run. The ability to sit at the table with our founders and drive strategic success and growth is provided from day one.
  • We have a strong focus on mental and physical wellness. We have a gym and exercise classes held on site at our offices, catered healthy lunches provided daily, as well as family outings and community involvement.
  • Our work hard-play hard approach is key to our firm's culture.

What's in it for you? A high performance culture, career growth opportunities, and the ability to make an impact, plus a full benefits package, including 401k.
Do Work That Matters. alliantgroup.
