The Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Purchasing Administrator to support our National Purchasing team. In this role, you will serve as a key partner between national leadership and division purchasing teams, helping to ensure procurement practices are consistent, efficient, and aligned across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

General Purchasing Support

  • Maintain and foster strong supplier relationships by supporting reporting, data analytics, specification reviews, and cost benchmarking
  • Assist in the development and rollout of purchasing training materials and standard operating procedures
  • Monitor and maintain pricing tools to ensure alignment with company benchmarks
  • Prepare reports on market conditions, product costs, and pricing trends
  • Track direct and optional costs across divisions to ensure consistency nationwide
  • Review contracts to ensure compliance with company standards and guidelines
  • Provide data analysis and reporting support to purchasing leadership as needed

Contract Administration

  • Support lifecycle management of national contracts, including renewals, RFPs, vendor onboarding, and legal updates
  • Partner with division and national purchasing teams to maintain contract documentation and records
  • Update and manage Scopes of Work and related contract materials
  • Conduct market analyses to benchmark labor and material costs and identify optimization opportunities
  • Assist in evaluating bids to support vendor selection decisions
  • Coordinate across departments to ensure timely execution of product plans and bidding processes
  • Process and communicate cost changes across stakeholders
  • Collaborate with centralized purchasing to resolve vendor payment issues and ensure timely communication with divisions
What You Bring
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, Procurement, or a related field required
  • 1-3 years of purchasing or procurement experience within homebuilding or construction setting required
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to extract insights for key stakeholders and make actionable recommendations to cross-functional teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, concise messaging
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and tools
  • Proven critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills across cross-functional teams
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Foundational understanding of consumer behavior in a retail setting
Requirements
  • 8-hour workdays with flexibility to work overtime when needed; may include some work on weekends or holidays dependent upon business needs which would be communicated in advance when possible
  • Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner to potential buyers, trade partners, and coworkers to reinforce goodwill and profitability for the company
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
