Aspen Fiber Networks is excited to offer a part-time internship opportunity for a highly organized and motivated individual to join our team as aย Project Management Intern (Preconstruction & Bidding).

This role is ideal for students interested in gaining hands-on experience in project management within the technology and telecommunications industry, while working directly on real-world structured cabling and infrastructure projects.

As a Project Management Intern, you will support the early stages of project development and preconstruction, working closely with internal teams and external partners. This role sits at the intersection ofย project management, operations, and project development, with a strong focus on execution and coordination.

You will be responsible for identifying project opportunities, gathering and organizing project data, coordinating with general contractors, and supporting the bidding process. This includes assisting with project planning, obtaining specifications and plans, and helping ensure projects move forward efficiently.

This is aย high-impact, production-based roleย where your work directly contributes to active projects and revenue opportunities. You will gain valuable exposure to project workflows, industry tools, and best practices, while developing strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Project & Contractor Research

  • Identify and build profiles for General Contractors (GCs)
  • Gather company information, websites, and key contacts
  • Maintain accurate records in D-Tools

Contact Development

  • Identify and collect contact information for:
    • Estimators
    • Project Managers
    • Preconstruction teams
  • Build and maintain a database of industry contacts

Outreach & Coordination

  • Contact GCs to:
    • Identify the correct point of contact
    • Understand vendor onboarding requirements
    • Discover active and upcoming bid opportunities

Preconstruction Support

  • Request and obtain:
    • Project plans
    • Specifications
    • Access to bid portals (Procore, Building Connected, etc.)

Proposal & Bid Support

  • Assist in preparing project proposals based on scope (endpoints)
  • Submit bid applications and documentation
  • Track bid opportunities and submission status

Data Management

  • Accurately enter and update all information in D-Tools
  • Track:
    • Contacts
    • Projects
    • Bid opportunities
    • Vendor application processes

Performance Expectations

This is a production-based roleย with clear hourly targets.
