About the Role

Bay Logistics is seeking a seasoned Business Development professional to drive strategic growth across our logistics, transportation, warehousing, and quality inspection services. This role is designed for an industry veteransomeone with deep market knowledge, strong relationships, and a proven ability to secure and expand high-value customer accounts.

This is a highly visible position offering autonomy to shape market strategy while collaborating closely with leadership and operations to deliver scalable, profitable growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic business development efforts across Eastern Michigan and surrounding regional markets.
  • Identify, pursue, and close complex, multi-service logistics and transportation opportunities.
  • Leverage an existing network of decisionmakers within manufacturing, automotive, retail, or industrial supply chains.
  • Build and execute long-term account strategies that drive sustainable revenue growth.
  • Partner with operations, pricing, and leadership teams to develop tailored customer solutions.
  • Deliver executive-level sales presentations and negotiate high-value contracts.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform growth strategies.
  • Represent Bay Logistics at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 710+ years of progressive experience in business development, sales, or account management within logistics, transportation, warehousing, or supply chain services.
  • Demonstrated success selling integrated or complex service offerings to mid-market or enterprise customers.
  • Strong understanding of transportation networks, warehousing operations, and supply chain challenges.
  • Established industry relationships and ability to engage comfortably with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to manage long sales cycles and high-dollar opportunities.
  • High degree of professionalism, initiative, and strategic thinking.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent industry experience strongly considered.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.

Work Environment & Travel

  • Field-based role with frequent customer engagement and regional travel.
  • Approximately 4050% travel expected within Michigan and neighboring states.
  • Standard MondayFriday daytime schedule with flexibility based on business needs.
