Job description

Position Summary

Apparel company seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Production / Product Development Coordinator right hand to the Production Manager. This role is ideal for a young professional eager to gain a greater understanding of the design, development and production processes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Production Manager in maintaining, managing and following up on production purchase orders, WIP reports, and delivery schedules with complete accuracy.
  • Support the design and product development for key retailers such as Kohls.
  • Track and manage all samples, pre-production samples (PPs), TOPs, and bulk production orders.
  • Communicate daily with factories and vendors regarding production status, sampling, and delivery timelines.
  • Coordinate cross-functional communication across the organization to ensure alignment on production schedules and key milestones.
  • Monitor and manage the Time and Action calendar to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Pull data and generate reports to support the production team with sample management, quality control, labeling, and packaging requirements.
  • Review workmanship, materials, finishing details, and fit to uphold brand quality standards.
  • Maintain production tracking spreadsheets and accurately input fit photos and fit comments.
  • Support design where needed. CAD, Photoshop skills a plus.

Qualifications

  • 1โ€“3 years of experience in production, product development with an apparel manufacturer.
  • Overall understanding of design, development, garment construction, manufacturing. administration, and production operations.
  • Keen eye for design elements.
  • Advanced attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive problem-solver with a sense of urgency and accountability.
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative, positive attitude.
  • High energy, strong work ethic, and pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work.

Preferred Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of product development experience in men's apparel.
  • Experience working directly with overseas vendors and factories.
  • Familiarity with the demands of working with such retailers as Kohls, Ross, TJMaxx
  • CAD, Photoshop, and Illustrator would be beneficial to support design when necessary but not required
  • Familiarity with Kohlsโ€™ vendor portal K-Link and their Bamboo Rose PLM is a plus.
