Summary

The Product Development Associate is an integral part of the Product Development team, supporting the creation and execution of elevated activewear and lifestyle collections that reflect the Spiritual Gangster brand aesthetic and values. This role partners cross-functionally with Design, Production, Merchandising, Technical Design, and external vendors to help bring innovative, high-quality products to market from concept through commercialization.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and passionate about fashion, wellness, and premium performance apparel. They thrive in a fast-paced environment, have strong attention to detail, and are excited to support the development of trend-driven collections that balance style, function, and fit.


Essential Functions

  • Support the product development process from concept through production handoff across womens activewear, lounge, and lifestyle categories
  • Track development timelines and maintain seasonal calendars to ensure key milestones and delivery dates are met
  • Coordinate and manage samples, including proto, fit, SMS, and TOP samples, ensuring timely receipt and organization
  • Communicate daily with overseas and domestic vendors regarding sample status, fabrics, trims, costing, and development updates
  • Partner closely with Design and Technical Design teams to execute product intent, fit standards, and quality expectations
  • Assist with fabric and trim sourcing, lab dip approvals, strike-offs, and development tracking
  • Maintain and update PLM systems, BOMs, style data, and development documentation with accuracy
  • Help prepare for fittings, line reviews, and cross-functional meetings by organizing samples and development materials
  • Review and track development costs for accessories to support margin goals and seasonal assortment strategies
  • Monitor development issues proactively and help identify solutions to maintain calendar deadlines and product integrity
  • Support sustainability and sourcing initiatives aligned with brand values and product innovation goals

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This role allows hybrid work at the managers discretion, requiring 4 days a week in the office.


Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Fashion Merchandising, Product Development, Apparel Production, or related field
  • 13 years of experience in product development, production, or merchandising within apparel or activewear
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics, trims, and fit processes
  • Experience working with overseas factories and vendors preferred
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and PLM systems
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Passion for activewear, wellness, fashion, and contemporary lifestyle brands
