Job description

Job Overview: The product development specialist is a key member of the ETE engineering group. The role will be responsible for the introduction of new transmission models into remanufacturing by evaluating incoming cores, gathering complexity, technical specifications, and variant data. Also assist with development of the bill of materials, and process flow. The role collaborates closely with quality and production to ensure successful launches. This position will also provide technical training for engineering peers and production team at launch.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Disassemble core to seek out complexity, common failures, specifications, and define variants within product families
  • Identify product core and assign to vehicle applications to create complexity and application matrix by transmission product family.
  • Collaborate with quality, manufacturing, and production to ensure seamless new product launches.
  • Train ETE engineering and production staff on new products.

Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or bachelor's degree in engineering, Automotive Technology, or 7+ years of equivalent practical experience in transmission remanufacturing or automotive product development.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret and create technical documents.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with automatic transmissions and understanding of the components and variants.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
