Sr. Engineer, Current Product Development

Work Mode: Onsite

Location: Onsite - Kohler, WI

Opportunity

As a Senior Engineer for Current Product Development, you will be updating and improving KOHLER products and collaborating with cross-functional peers to solve engineering problems. 

Product Engineers will work with cross functional groups on Current Product Development projects and are expected to handle responsibilities and perform moderately complex assignments involving large and important projects, with only general direction of management personnel.  The Senior Engineer will exhibit considerable project management skill, including complete planning, implementation and critique of all engineering deliverables.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Conduct engineering analysis and implementation of design modifications to improve performance, manufacturability, or cost optimization.
  •  Prototype concepts and test them in Kohler’s test lab.
  • Diagnose laboratory test failures, establish root causes, and implement solutions.
  • Clearly and effectively present (both written and orally) the results of their efforts to their project teams and/or management as appropriate.
  •  Implement the development process to take a product into production according to established milestones.
  • Prepare drawings and documentation needed to define the product design.
  • Coordination of development timing.
  • Present and disseminate technical data to other group functions or groups as requested and needed for business decision-making.  Assist in functional excellence improvement. 

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited school.
  • Minimum of 4 years of Mechanical Engineering experience.
  • Related product design/development experience or equivalent proven ability and achievement in related product design.
  • Working knowledge of 3D CAD modeling is beneficial.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed (<10%).

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation.
