ERMCO is looking for a Payroll Manager that is responsible for all tasks associated with the processing and completion of payroll, union payroll, all payroll reporting and payment functions. This is an in-office position.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the preparation in the processing of weekly payroll; Collect and summarize timekeeping information, review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets
  • Enter time by project, by cost code, by classification code into ERP system
  • Handle the administration of the electronic timekeeping system
  • Monitor submissions of approved timesheets, ensure valid data transfers to/from payroll
  • Obtain supervisory approval of time card discrepancies
  • Process garnishment requests and child support payments
  • Process employee loans and paybacks
  • Process direct deposit payments
  • Assist with Certified Payroll Reporting
  • Manage all field employee files
  • Assist with federal/state payroll tax deposits and payroll tax returns
  • Responsible for all union reporting, payment processing, balancing of payments to reports and general ledger and union audits
  • Assist Director of Field Operations as required with the hiring-in/termination process.
  • Verify and process apprenticeship work reports.
  • Manage and assign duties to payroll coordinator.
  • Responsible for the coordination efforts between payroll and human resources to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data
  • Adherence to policy including compliance with federal/state/local regulations
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by Controller or which are logically inherent to this position.
  • Remit 401k payments weekly
  • All other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION:

  • Associate Degree in Business Administration/Finance required, Accounting Degree preferred; or equivalent work experience demonstrating success in similar roles
  • 5 or more years' experience in payroll processing procedures.
  • Union Payroll experience and understanding of union contracts is required
  • High degree of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Ability to assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects and demands
  • Excellent time management skills, attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly
  • Mathematical and logical skills.
