Job description

The Tom Wood Group, in Indianapolis, Indiana is currently searching for a Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented professional with a deep understanding of payroll processes and regulations. They will excel at maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance, and providing exceptional support to employees.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Process biweekly payroll & supplemental payrolls for more than 1,000 employees  

  • Process all payroll reporting after each transmittal 

  • Send out biweekly and supplemental payroll reports for various store locations  

  • Follow up with management teams on time & attendance functions as well as time off approvals on a weekly basis  

  • Administer garnishments and child support administration  

  • ADP reporting functions for Executive management, GM, Office Managers, and others 

  • Verification on new hire information in ADP system 

  • New hire reporting to applicable states 

  • Handle termination paperwork and maintain terminated employee files  

  • Other payroll duties as assigned  

Qualifications: 

  • Previous payroll experience – preferred experience with ADP Workforce Now. 

  • Associates/undergraduate degree in HR, Business, Accounting or equivalent work experience in payroll area. 

  • Ability to partner across organizations including Finance, Sales, Marketing, Operations, IT, Senior Managers, and Employees.  

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.  

  • A high level of confidentiality/discretion required.  

  • MUST have a valid driver’s license with a clean record.
