AES Restaurant Group is seeking a motivated and detail oriented Payroll Specialist to join our corporate office in Zionsville, Indiana. The ideal candidate will have payroll experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to process payroll accurately and timely in a deadline driven environment.


This role requires a high level of confidentiality, professionalism, organization, and follow through. The Payroll Specialist will work closely with HR, operations, and leadership to ensure payroll information is accurate, compliant, and properly maintained.


Duties

• Manage workflow to ensure payroll transactions are processed accurately and on time.

• Coordinate payroll processing, reporting, and record keeping.

• Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for 500 plus employees.

• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws.

• Maintain security and strict confidentiality of payroll information.

• Update and maintain documentation for payroll processes, procedures, and controls.

• Coordinate with HR regarding payroll changes, including new hires, terminations, and wage adjustments.

• Oversee electronic payments and payroll check distribution.

• Review payroll information for accuracy and ensure all required documentation is complete.

• Process additional compensation or deductions, including bonuses, garnishments, child support, and off cycle payrolls.

• Produce payroll reports for upper management as requested.

• Respond to employee questions regarding payroll, salaries, and payments.

• Support audits or payroll related requests from outside authorities when needed.

• Maintain accurate payroll records and perform data entry.

• Ensure payroll accuracy through wage computation, error correction, and report review.

• Generate and analyze payroll reports.


Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience preferred.

• Experience processing multi state payroll strongly preferred.

• Strong working knowledge of payroll best practices.

• Strong knowledge of federal and multi state payroll requirements.

• Intermediate Microsoft Excel experience, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.

• Experience with RTI, ProLiant, or talentReef is a plus.

• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

• Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to meet strict deadlines and manage time effectively.

• Ability to problem solve, analyze data, and work in a team based environment.
