Job description

Position Overview:

Responsible for properly preparing various types of Pastries & Desserts and to ensure that all presentations are aesthetically appealing and adhere to the Jeff Ruby standard of quality

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare all pastry items in accordance to company approved recipes
  2. Ensure that all dessert components are fully stocked and prepared for service
  3. Follows all safety and health rules for sanitary food handling and kitchen cleanliness
  4. Daily set up of workstation and keeps it neat and clean
  5. Assists CCM & CCA with monthly inventory counts, controls, and follow up
  6. Assists coworkers to ensure efficient operation of the line
  7. Review and comprehend recipes and other necessary documentation.

Qualifications:

  1. Food preparation knowledge and line work experience
  2. Ability to operate various cooking equipment.
  3. Ability to read and interpret recipes.
  4. At least a year’s training at a culinary institute or previous restaurant training and experience required.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to stand and walk during 6-to-8-hour shifts
  2. Ability to travel to all Cincinnati locations.
  3. Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and wipe.
  4. Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 60 pounds and place items on high and low shelves in storerooms and freezers.
  5. Ability to work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of heat and noise
