Job description

Company Overview
Regent is a global private equity firm focused on acquiring businesses and realizing exponential growth through operational improvements and strategic capital deployment. Regent focuses on acquiring businesses that exhibit the potential for significant change and rapid growth.
MCO is the shared operational infrastructure of Regent's portfolio companies and an integral part of the firm's overall approach to value creation. Our core mission is to transform businesses for our stakeholders by developing and delivering transformed and sustainable performance within our portfolio. We work with improvement-oriented executives to assist them in making strategic decisions, translate those decisions into actions and deliver the lasting success they need. With the help of these leaders, operating teams and individuals, MCO has the aptitude to support complex, global businesses across various industry verticals.
About the Role
We're looking for a part-time Payroll Coordinator who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and ready to support the payroll function behind the scenes. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on keeping things moving, enjoys working in ever-evolving environment, and can adapt quickly when priorities shift.
You'll play a critical role in preparing payroll inputs, maintaining data accuracy in ADP Workforce Now (WFN), and supporting the broader payroll team. Just as important-you bring a calm, thoughtful approach, treat people with care, and don't mind finding a little humor in the day-to-day.
What You'll Do
  • Support payroll processing by preparing and entering data into ADP Workforce Now (WFN), including:
    • New hires, terminations, and employee changes
    • Pay rate updates and effective-dated changes
    • One-time earnings (bonuses, stipends, adjustments)
    • Recurring earnings and deductions
  • Review and validate payroll input files for completeness and accuracy prior to processing
  • Assist with payroll audits by comparing input data to payroll registers and reports
  • Track and organize payroll-related documentation, ensuring proper recordkeeping and compliance
  • Respond to basic employee payroll inquiries and escalate more complex issues as needed
  • Support year-end activities and other administrative payroll projects
  • Maintain strong attention to deadlines and ensure all inputs are submitted on time

Who You Are
  • Highly organized - You keep track of multiple inputs, deadlines, and details without things slipping through the cracks
  • Detail-oriented - You take pride in accuracy and catching small errors before they become bigger issues
  • Calm and adaptable - You can pivot when priorities change and stay steady during busy payroll cycles
  • Supportive team player - You're proactive, reliable, and ready to jump in where needed
  • Empathetic and professional - You communicate clearly and treat employee questions with care
  • Positive attitude - You bring a grounded, approachable energy (and aren't afraid to laugh when appropriate)

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, MCO includes a reasonable estimate of the salary or hourly rate range for this role. This accounts for the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience and training, licensure, and certifications.
A reasonable estimate of the current base hourly rate is $30-33/hour working up to 30 hours per week.
