(Truck Route Scheduling, Manifests, Shipping, Receiving, Inventory)

Pennsylvania Steel is a leading distributor of steel and aluminum. We are a private and veteran owned business.
Pennsylvania Steel has been in business since 1972 and has expanded to 11 locations in 2017, becoming one of the largest Steel Service Centers in the eastern United States.
The Ashland, VA branch is looking for a Warehouse Office Operations Associate to work with our Shipping, Receiving, and Inventory processes. A working knowledge of shipping/receiving via UPS, Fed-X and Common Carriers and applicable shipping documentation is required.

Position Responsibilities:
โ€ข Assist with all shipping, receiving, and inventory organization operations.
โ€ข Knowledge of shipping and setting up truck routes. Trained in knowledge of UPS, FedEx, and Common Carrier shipping paperwork.
โ€ข Process incoming and outgoing orders.
โ€ข Receive and process new inventory, ensuring contents match manifest documents.
โ€ข Inspect receivables for defects, damages, or missing items.
โ€ข Label warehouse paperwork for quick and easy identification and retrieval.
โ€ข Perform detailed manual inventory counts. Problem solving inventory history.
โ€ข Experienced using computer programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and warehouse logistic programs.
โ€ข Communication skills through emails and phones calls.
โ€ข All duties and work will be performed from desk inside sales office with sitting or standing at employees discretion.
โ€ข No lifting required.
Experience and Skills
Qualifications:
  • Must be very detailed
  • Experienced with scheduling truck/transportation routes
  • Experienced with Shipping Manifests, Shipping Documents with all Shipping entities
  • Experience with inspecting incoming materials for defects and checking that all materials ordered are received
  • Experience with manual inventory counts and what is in the system
  • Experience with handling incoming and outgoing orders
  • Knowledgeable with handling and correcting discrepanices
