The Membership Associate's primary responsibility is to greet and welcome all who visit the YMCA. The Membership Associates build the Y community by providing accurate information and connecting members and non-members with one another, staff members, programs, and resources that will help them to accomplish their goals.

What You'll Do
  • Provides outstanding customer experience by greeting members and guests and helping to direct them to the appropriate areas in the facility.
  • Develops and maintains a full understanding of the benefits, offerings, and values of YGBW membership and programming and can articulate them to all types of people with differing needs.
  • Assists in giving cause-driven facility tours for prospective members.
  • Performs basic functions in the organizational membership software system including but not limited to starting and processing memberships, updating contact information, taking payments, and registering individuals for programs.
  • Ensures facility security by scanning members in and checking that their membership is valid before permitting entry. Screens prospects and non-members through the organization's sexual abuse screening tool before providing entry.
  • Answers member inquiries and/or directs to the appropriate staff member, ensuring the inquiry is responded to appropriately and in a timely fashion.
  • Maintains accurate cash, receipt records, and financial operating procedures.
  • Understands and properly executes opening and closing procedures.
  • Maintains a professional atmosphere and presentation with proper and current signage.
  • Always wears approved YGBW apparel and name tag when on duty.
  • Ensure compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You'll Need
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Experience with children preferred
  • Availability 9am-1pm Wednesday and Friday and Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 1pm to 4pm
  • Obtain and maintain all additional new hire certifications and training within 90 days of hire
  • Bilingual associates strongly encouraged to apply
