Job description

The Welcome Center Associate is responsible for front line membership and program registration and verification, ability to sell memberships to prospective customers, answering the telephone in a timely, friendly and helpful manner, and providing accurate information in a professional manner to all inquiries. We are seeking associates to work weekday evening shifts 4pm-9pm and various weekend shifts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Greets members and others entering the facility and ensures that all memberships are valid.
  • Prepares daily program schedule board for members.
  • Accepts and receives the payment of memberships and programs. Receipts all monies and ensures all work balances at end of shift.
  • Practices the "Relationship Building" principles outlined in the Policy and Procedures Manual.
  • Perform all necessary membership and program registration including online registrations.
  • Keeps all records and files in an organized manner.
  • Answers the telephone and provides accurate information in a professional manner.
  • Maintain a clean and friendly environment with relationship building as priority.
  • Assists with preparation of all mailings.
  • Participates in membership tours, membership sales and follow up to prospective members.
  • Maintains a positive and professional image
  • Communicates with membership and staff on all changes.
  • Ensures that the cash drawer is always balanced.
  • Participates in all special events, such as open houses.
  • Communicates directly with members and the community to build, strong, positive and lasting relationships.
  • Consults and communicates with the Membership Coordinator or the Membership Director on all matters of importance.
  • Participate in workshops, seminars and conferences that will enhance professional growth.
  • Assist with all promotional activities throughout the year.
  • Assist with the Annual Support Campaign.
  • Works well independently and shows initiative.

Hours: Weekday Shifts Various 5am opening shifts, closing shifts to 9pm and various weekend shifts.
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications; Blood borne Pathogens and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
  • Previous Customer Service Experience preferred.
  • Flexibility for other shifts a plus.
  • Outgoing, Friendly, and Engaging.
