Manufacturing Manager - CNC, Welding & Cleanroom Operations (Pittsburgh, PA)
Kurt J. Lesker Company (KJLC) is seeking a Manufacturing Manager to lead our U.S. production operations across CNC machining, welding/fabrication, and cleanroom manufacturing. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and can drive performance, accountability, and continuous improvement across a complex manufacturing operation.
In this role, you will lead shop floor execution, develop high-performing teams, and help shape the future of our manufacturing capabilities. You'll oversee daily operations with a strong focus on safety, quality, throughput, and on-time delivery while partnering cross-functionally to solve problems, improve processes, and support business growth. If you are a decisive leader who can balance speed, structure, and team development in a high-mix, low-volume environment, this could be the right next step for you.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage manufacturing operations across CNC machining, welding, and cleanroom production
  • Build, develop, and coach a high-performing team of supervisors, machinists, welders, and technicians
  • Manage operational budgets, capital equipment, and resource planning
  • Drive production output, efficiency, and on-time delivery
  • Own safety, quality, and compliance across all manufacturing areas
  • Identify and resolve production issues using data-driven problem solving
  • Champion Lean manufacturing, 6S, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Partner with engineering and supply chain to meet business goals
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of manufacturing leadership experience (manager, plant manager, or similar)
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing, 6S, CAPA, and process improvement
  • Strong track record of improving productivity, quality, and cost performance
  • Ability to lead teams, drive accountability, and develop talent
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%
Preferred:
  • Strong background in CNC machining and/or welding/fabrication environments
  • Job shop or high-mix/low-volume manufacturing
  • Cleanroom manufacturing or precision components
  • Manufacturing finance or cost control
  • Experience working in a global or multi-site environment
