Peninsula Plastics is a leading provider of custom plastic solutions, specializing in high-quality products for diverse industries. With decades of expertise and a strong commitment to innovation, we take pride in delivering reliable, efficient, and cost-effective solutions for our customers. We are looking for a driven Manufacturing Manager to join our leadership team and help oversee daily operations at our Pontiac facility.

Position Overview:
The Manufacturing Manager will be responsible for leading our thermoforming, automation and maintenance teams to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production. This role requires a strong background in manufacturing management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive continuous improvement across all areas of production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day production operations, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity goals are met
  • Manage and develop a team of supervisors and production staff
  • Implement lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Monitor production schedules, staffing, and resources to optimize efficiency
  • Develop, manage and monitor departmental KPIs, and present to team at quarterly Management review
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to resolve issues and improve processes
  • Track and report key performance metrics, including output, downtime, and labor efficiency
  • Support cost reduction initiatives and budget management for plant operations

Qualifications:

  • Associateโ€™s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or related field (preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing leadership, preferably within plastics, automotive, or related industries
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methods
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Automation a plus
  • Experience in thermoforming a plus
  • Experience in the packaging industry a plus
