Job Title: Composites Technician – Aerospace
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday to Friday: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM | Saturday: 6:00 AM – 11:00 AM (55 hours/week)
Work Attire Required: Work pants, long sleeve or t-shirt, and close-toed shoes

Position Overview

The Composites Technician is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and finishing high-quality composite components used in aerospace products. This role works with materials including carbon fiber, metal, plastics, and adhesives to produce precision components that support downstream assembly operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to follow engineering drawings and work instructions, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fabricate, assemble, and finish composite components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Cut, shape, bond, sand, and prepare carbon fiber, metal, plastic, and adhesive materials for assembly.
  • Use hand tools and composite fabrication equipment to manufacture precision components.
  • Measure and inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Ensure finished products meet quality standards and dimensional specifications.
  • Record production progress, inventory, and material usage using manufacturing software systems.
  • Maintain accurate production, quality, and material tracking documentation, including scrap records.
  • Work closely with Team Leads and Supervisors to meet daily production schedules and changing priorities.
  • Help maintain production flow by completing composite components on schedule.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of one year of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Manufacturing internship experience is a plus.
  • Participation in STEM programs is a plus.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, engineering drawings, and specifications.
  • Ability to use hand tools and precision measuring equipment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining quality standards.
  • Willingness to follow department policies, including workstation cell phone requirements.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience working with carbon fiber or composite materials.
  • Experience cutting, sanding, bonding, and finishing composite components.
  • Precision use of hand tools.
  • Experience using carbon fiber saws or similar cutting equipment.
  • Ability to consistently produce high-quality work while meeting production goals.
  • Basic computer skills for recording production and inventory information.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
