Concrete Products Manufacturing Manager - Construction - Base Salary to 110k/year- Sanford, ME

  • Our client is a leading manufacturer of high-quality concrete products. They are seeking an experienced Concrete Products Manufacturing Manager to oversee the safe, clean, and efficient operation of their manufacturing facilities. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for concrete production operations, plant safety, equipment performance, preventive maintenance, production scheduling, batching processes, quality standards, downtime reduction, and production workforce management.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee plant and personnel safety compliance, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE), safety rules, and monthly safety meetings
  • Maintain technical knowledge of concrete manufacturing equipment, silos, aggregate hoppers, automated batching systems, batching consoles, equipment settings, and equipment repair
  • Develop, implement, and manage preventive maintenance programs covering daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly maintenance cycles
  • Manage spare parts inventory and equipment maintenance activities to minimize production downtime
  • Develop weekly production schedules, establish production quotas, and monitor production performance
  • Prepare daily and monthly production reports tracking production output, equipment downtime, downtime causes, cull rates, and reject rates
  • Manage automated concrete batching processes and mix designs, including color formulas for architectural concrete and retaining wall products
  • Coordinate with Quality Control to maintain dimensional, strength, appearance, and overall concrete product quality standards
  • Monitor production processes and implement corrective actions to reduce cull rates, reject rates, and manufacturing downtime
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, equipment, batching, and production process issues
  • Manage plant personnel, including scheduling, performance reviews, disciplinary documentation, and workforce coverage
  • Establish and oversee plant housekeeping and clean-plant standards
  • Conduct monthly staff meetings and weekly production meetings covering safety, quality, production performance, and operational targets

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of related manufacturing experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience reading and interpreting technical procedures, professional journals, regulations, and manufacturing documentation
  • Experience preparing internal reports, production reports, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, and basic algebra and geometry concepts used in manufacturing and mix-design applications
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical or operational problems, collecting and analyzing production data, establishing facts, and determining corrective actions

Compensation:

  • Base salary in the 85k - 110k/year range
