Ontic's Chatsworth, CA, site specializes in precision engineering, MRO, and new solutions for parts at risk of obsolescence. With over 1,400 employees across four time zones and seven sites, we have more than doubled in size since 2019 and are continuing to grow at pace.

Our team is looking for a Manager of Operational Excellence at Ontic Chatsworth, CA Office. Reporting to the Director of Operational Excellence (OpEx), the Manager of Operational Excellence owns inventory performance, make-buy strategy, and operational analytics. This role drives working capital improvement and cross-functional execution.

To be considered for the Manager, Operational Excellence opening, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 7-12+ years' experience Aerospace experience
  • Strong Program Management, Project Management, Supply Chain/Procurement, data and analytics, and Operational Excellence (OpEx) experience
  • Lean Leadership experience
  • ERP and MRP experience (InFor Visual ERP experience preferred but not a requirement).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES FOR THIS JOB:

  • Own inventory performance (active, E&O, WIP)
  • Drive working capital improvement through bringing visibility to what were purchasing and when, as well as identifying suppliers for inventory already on order that wont be consumed within the specified time frame and working with Procurement Leadership to formalize a strategy for bringing the inventory on site or holding.
  • Establish inventory governance
  • Lead make vs buy decisions
  • Align inventory with operational flow
  • Lead analytics capability overseeing Project Managers and Data Analysts

Impact Expectations (First 90-180 Days)

  • Stand up inventory governance aligned with Ontic's financial controls and inventory policies.
  • Deliver measurable inventory reduction through sell-offs or working with the Value Stream Leaders, Program Managers, Operations leadership, and Planning, to identify what can be built and by when.
  • Implement and deliver on make-buy framework
  • Improve cross-functional alignment
  • Increase shortage visibility
