Job description

Bald Mountain is an open-pit mine with a large estimated mineral resource in the largest private mining land package in the U.S. The mine is located in White Pine County, one of the best mining jurisdictions in the world, along the southern extension of the prolific Carlin trend. Bald Mountain and the nearby Round Mountain mine make up Kinross' Nevada operations.
Bald Mountain is an important contributor to the economy of northeastern Nevada and maintains a comprehensive environmental strategy including wildlife protection, habitat recovery and education.
Job Description
The successful candidate will work under the direction and supervision of the Planning Supervisor while coordinating with Operations Dispatch/personnel and the Mobile Maintenance team to achieve daily availability and tonnage targets. A successful candidate will work as a maintenance dispatcher on a rotating shift with an assigned Maintenance crew (Days only). Tasks include using Machine Health Systems (MyCat, MyKomatsu, Prevail and E-global) to identify equipment issues before functional failure, generating reports, creating maintenance work orders and keeping an accurate equipment down list using Dispatch Systems. Working closely with the Maintenance crew by communicating equipment needs and helping Mine Operations meet daily tonnage targets in support of the mine plan. The successful candidate will act with professionalism and integrity as a representative of Kinross.
Job Responsibilities
• Work in an office environment for 12.5 hour rotating shifts.
• Two way radio interaction with personnel
• Use analytical skills and tools to identify potential equipment issues.
• Properly address equipment critical alarms.
• Keep an accurate and detailed list of downed equipment.
• Support supervisors dispatching field mechanics to ensure safe and efficient production.
• Create maintenance work orders.
• Coordinate with Mine Operations to ensure scheduled equipment delivery time compliance.
• Generate daily and weekly reports to support the reliability decisions.
• Demonstrate the willingness to learn and apply procedures applicable to position.
Qualification and Skill Requirements
• Required: Minimum of 1 year experience working for a mining operation (Preferable maintenance background)
• Required: Possess high school diploma or equivalent. (Higher degree would be a plus)
• Required: Be able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Required: Possess the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast paced environment.
• Required: Have a basic understanding of an open pit and heap leach mining process.
• Previous experience in the Maintenance Health (Maintenance Dispatcher) field is a benefit but not required.
• Has moderate abilities using basic Microsoft computer applications (Excel, Word, Outlook and MS Project) and can navigate through network drives to access folders.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Demonstrated history of working with others, displaying a positive attitude, and working as part of a team.
• Satisfactory Performance, attendance, and safety record.
• Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information.
• Ability to work with others in a team environment.
• Willing to develop skills in other areas of responsibility within the Mobile Maintenance Department.

• Must be able to help troubleshoot equipment problems and guide operators over the radio in a professional manner.
• Manage the phone, radio and computer duties in Dispatch such as:
Understand code blue procedures and responsibilities.
Understand Maintenance Organizational charts and resources available.
Other tasks as assigned.
• Develop understanding of Dispatch systems and capability of running the system:
Understand how to call equipment down and properly reason coding.
Understand how to call equipment up and properly reason coding.
Understand the overall equipment efficiency (OEE) standards for Mobile Equipment.
• Develop understanding of Machine Health Systems and capability of running the system:
Understand how to extract information.
Understand how to plot charts and identify potential issues.
Creating Pre-PM reports.
Quickly react to critical alarms and/or reoccurring events.
• Develop an understanding of JDE Maintenance module and gain the skills needed to efficiently utilize the system:
Creating work orders.
Requesting stock parts.
Properly coding Work Orders.
Create pre-ops Follow-up work orders
• Being able to generate basic excel based reports.
• Must be able to handle basic optimization and communicate in a timely manner.
• Request assistance from supervision/management based on events when required.
