Job description

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: ย ย As the Crew Dispatch Manager, you will be responsible for effectively staffing all of Parker Towing, Southern Division vessels and performing daily safety and compliance meetings with all crew members before crews are dispatched to their boats. You will also be expected to provide administrative support of Human Resources/orientation documentation for newly hired employees, coordinate vessel re-supply logistics and participate in selected vessel audits, surveys, and investigations. This position has direct reports which they will be responsible for delegation and training.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:ย 
  • The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Meeting daily vessel staffing requirements and ensuring the submission of accurate payrolls.
  • Supervision of crew personnel performance and professional development.
  • New hire orientation administration.
  • Managing a team of Crew Dispatchers.
  • Work with vendors, customers and vessel dispatch to identify optimum locations for crew changes, provisioning of fuel and groceries that minimize down time/delays.
  • Administration of incident and investigation documentation.
  • Management and maintenance of company crew trucks.
  • Perform training and compliance briefs to Parker Towing Company employees.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new programs, policies, and procedures to enhance safety and improve efficiencies.
  • Remaining โ€œon callโ€ to ensure vessel coverage after hours, on holidays and weekends.
  • Engage in continuous improvement processes that enhance crew performance.
  • Other duties as assigned by Parker Towing Company management group.

WORK EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Must have a strong understanding of planning and logistics.
  • Must possess strong verbal and written English communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Management / Leadership experience
  • Must have strong computer skills and understanding of Microsoft Word /Excel.
  • Experience in logistics platforms related to the towing and barge industry is a plus.
  • Highly adaptive to changes.

EDUCATION:
  • Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent
