Day Porter (Part-Time) - South East Regional Library

$15.00/hr

Saturday and Sunday 6PM - 11PM

SUMMARY:

This position will perform Custodial work. The Day Porter will clean all areas of the facility (Per industry standards, approximately 4,500 - 5,000 sq ft will need to be cleaned within 1 hour - this will vary by location) by performing the following duties:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner in order to reflect the highest integrity of the Company.

•Performs routine cleaning of office areas, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, stairways, and all other areas in a clean, neat and sanitary manner.

•Mops and sweeps as needed.

•Vacuums carpets at designated areas such as break rooms, elevators, offices, escalators, and stairs.

•Cleans and dusts furniture, exhibit cases, fixtures, windows, doors, trim, and related furnishings as requested by the supervisor. Uses safety pole for high dusting.

•Empties waste paper baskets; collects, bags, and disposes of paper and debris as directed; collects and places in containers garbage, broken glass, and litter. Removes trash to appropriate refuse container.

•Replenishes rest room supplies. Cleans, disinfects, and services lavatories, locker rooms, and rest rooms. Cleans all fixtures daily.

•Maintains high quality service standards when performing job duties.

•Completes own work with normal supervision.

•Performs related work as directed.

•Ensures cleaning carts are not left unattended and custodial closet remains locked at all times. Keeps hallways and pathways clear of debris, cleaning equipment and tools.

•Reports to work on time and dressed in company uniform to also include employee badge and black safety shoes.

•Identifies and reports safety hazards to supervisor.

•Follows safety procedures which include the correct use of PPE and other Safety requirements based on the job. Responsible for cleaning all bio-waste using these procedures.

•Reports structural concerns to Manager immediately.

•Completes additional duties as assigned.
