Job description

Purpose

This role is designed for a student pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Computer Science and provides hands-on exposure to ERP systems, business process support, and IT-enabled operations.

The SAP / IT Support Intern will serve as a liaison between business users and the IT organization, supporting SAP-related processes, system use, and change management activities.

This role will assist with end-user support, training coordination, minor system configuration tasks, and ticket resolution related to SAP. This position supports new hires and business users by helping reinforce standardized processes while gaining practical experience in ERP systems and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between business users and the IT team, supporting SAP-related processes and system usage
  • Provide end-user support for SAP processes, including responding to questions, issues, and basic troubleshooting after training
  • Assist with completion of assigned SAP tickets, requirements, or tasks in a timely manner with minimal rework
  • Support new hire onboarding and ongoing process training related to SAP usage and business processes
  • Assist with minor SAP configuration activities under the guidance of IT and business process owners
  • Support change management initiatives related to SAP process updates or enhancements
  • Participate in larger SAP projects in various support roles
  • Help document SAP procedures, workflows, and training materials to support consistent system usage
  • Partner with accounting and business stakeholders to understand process requirements and translate them into system support needs
  • Track issues, resolutions, and recurring themes to help improve SAP training effectiveness
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and regular check-ins throughout the co-op assignment

Qualifications

  • Sophomore or higher currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Business Administration, Accounting, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Basic understanding of accounting concepts and business processes
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Willingness to learn new systems, processes, and technical concepts
  • Ability to analyze issues and work toward solutions after training

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in learning ERP systems, particularly SAP
  • Prior exposure to SAP or other ERP systems
